I'm sitting on the porch, breathing in the October air. The wind blows faintly, and the leaves are clapping their hands in its movement. Becoming crimson, they prepare for their descent. There is a single bird chirping, looking for its mate, only to later learn that it was left behind. We all die alone. The leaves, too.
I've seen him sitting on that porch for over an hour, but I've been too busy packing my own bags, as well as his, to find the time to bother him. The children have already left, and after they did, he pulled his desk chair out to the porch, from which his body hasn't moved an inch. I can tell, though, that his mind has already crossed country borders, and is already at our destination. If only we could be there as quickly as his mind, then perhaps this wouldn't be so gloomy. I started packing his bags after I realized that he wasn't moving until when it was absolutely necessary. I never really cared for the changing of the leaves and the trees and all that jazz. I suppose that's just his vice. And when you've got nothing left, all you can do is run under the shelter of your vice and dream. I haven't had a dream in years.
I can hear him packing my bags, but I'm more concentrated on the sound of the leaves brushing against each other. I should help, I know, but I can't leave this scene. The trees have far too much to tell. I find it both ironic and depressing that when the tree has grown old and uninhabitable, the acorns fall. Anticipating their new life, telling each other that things will be much better without the tree dragging them behind, they start anew. But, as nature reveals its patterns, they too will, in later years, grow to be the same as the tree. This is a metaphor. The trees have much to say, but we're far too busy to listen. Doomed to repeat that which we swore not to do, which our fathers did, we do the same. We become them. Society is stuck in its own perpetual loop of self-contradictory.
Still sitting; I hope he's alright. We leave in an hour, and I'm debating whether or not packing is unnecessary. After all, carrying the past to the future only encumbers us. I begin to think about what I'll be missing, and I wonder if I will miss anything at all. If I were standing before those whom I was leaving, all I would have to say is that I hope their future is as bright as mine. Sometimes I don't have much to say, so I lie.
Another leaf falls. Time is running short, and I can feel the train coming. Before it leaves, I would like to speak with a few people who don't understand my situation, but I feel I don't have the time. Maybe others will tell them my story; maybe they will exaggerate it, for better or worse. If they were standing before me, I would put my hand on their wizardly shoulders, and I would tell them not to be like the tree, or to become like the tree. If they would continue with the same ambition which they had when they were acorns, they would not be doomed to repeat their pasts, like the trees before them. I have nothing to say to those whom I am leaving besides that. People don't understand who they are until they become someone else.
We are ready to go, and should probably be heading to the station soon. As we step onto the platform, we begin to ponder what we will be missing. Our thoughts race, and we cannot find anything. Maybe there is nothing, but maybe there is everything. We won't know what we're missing until we've left.
Goodbye, fine sir. Your journey shall surely be a fine one. If you ever get the chance, perhaps you will look back long enough to understand what you learned. But until then, look only ahead. You will have time to look back when there is nothing left to look forward to.
He was a fine man, and a contribution to those who saw it. A poet, a thinker, a madman. He accepted chaos to the point of where he welcomed it in his home every night for dinner. A terrible habit, indeed. And, as the archetypal man goes, his hubris caught up with him, and brought him to his blissfully ignorant demise. Joyful, cynical, socially-unacceptable. He was his own contradiction. An utterly confusing attitude that, when dissected, revealed attributes that seemed, at many times, to be polar opposites. But it was this socially-awkward harmony, or lack thereof, which made him human. People are strange.
They sure are.

Now, I know everyone here is so excited, they can hardly contain the enthusiasm in their pants. But before everyone starts losing themselves in the insanity, I must lay down a few rules. Don't give me that look. I understand that you've heard these rules repeated a million times before, but the board rules states that I must, with no exceptions, tell all the rules before letting anyone participate. Consider yourselves lucky, as very few other places will post the rules as early as I have decided. So read them, study them, ponder them, and keep them in mind when the day finally comes. With that said, I shall begin.
Rule number one: Chimney Sweep Day is to take place on September 11th, and September 11th, only. No exceptions. I can't believe I have to repeat this every year, but nothing sickens me more than seeing people celebrate Chimney Sweep Day on the humbugging twelfth.
Rule number two, part one: you must be in proper attire. No exceptions. This includes no flip-flops, no popped collars, and absolutely no shirts ranging between 059831-059817 on the hex-colour scale. If any person, male or female, is spotted breaking this rule, they will be immediately removed and will be asked not to return for a year. Part two of this rule, which was amended after the 1947 Chimney Sweep Day Massacre after which one attendant came with a cheap hat from Hollister. It was then decided that, if you are to wear any head-attire, it must be fancy. That's with a capital F. No exceptions.
Rule number three: no horseplay. This is serious work we do, and it hurts me a little inside knowing that I have to tell everyone this.
Rule number four: don't soil the day with your deficated memes. Chimney Sweep Day is about social independence, not following your friends off the cliff of triteness.
Epilogue: " As stated by the board committee in 1883, these are the rules that all Chimney Sweep Day celebrators are to follow. Breaking these rules is very naughty naughty naughty, and will result in immediate docking of awesome points. If sufficient amount of awesome points are not present, the criminal may face execution. We highly enjoy murders and executions, I mean mergers and appositions, and would hate to see such things deemed intolerable due to their abuse. On a final thought, all citizens of Prussia must sign a contract of safety before joining any celebrations. We, the board of Chimney Sweep Day directors, its leaders, supernef, and Vaatixganon are not responsible for any actions taken by the king towards a non-compliant Prussian citizen. Furthermore, the stated people are not responsible for any injuries, although we provide extremely expensive medical services to those injured anyway because we care. That is all."
-Board of Chimney Sweep Day Chairmen, 1883, Prague

The competitors of FCD's Singles Tournament waited months patiently for the release of the much anticipated Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Since its first public appearance at E3 2005, fans of the series cried like girls and spilled tears and sweat of joy. During this time, many useless threads and posts were made, including some spam which was let through. Within the mind of a mage, however, the idea for a forum-wide tournament sparked.
Gamree, the Green Mage of Whatever Land left his home for a perilous journey of rule making, massive PMing, and hours of typing. His Super Smash Bros. Brawl Singles Tournament drew in much attention and quickly earned popularity. After the long hours were over, everyone began their useless and pitiful trash-talk, pinning each other to their keyboards for a comeback. The days passed ever so slowly while the updates at the Dojo were made and read.

When March 9th finally arrived, copies of the game were stolen from the stores and broken even. Well, maybe not, but it sounds cool, so run with it. In any case, FCDers quickly popped in their shiny new Brawl disc into their Wiis without lifting a finger to read the manual. The members at the Eastern Coast were first to play, while the others had to wait either one, two, or three more hours for March 9th to arrive to their time zone.
A two week grace period was made for the contestants to prepare for the ruthless battles ahead. The results appear in the tables that follow.

Weeks passed by rapidly as everyone woke up early in the morning to go to school or work and return home some hours later. At the same time, they had to worry about their next opponent. Juggling time around was quite a task for many, but everyone was able to have fun in the end. The last two Brawlers standing were Gamree and DBY, those with the most smack talk and lengthiest posts. They held true to their word, but here, one would fall.
The final battles were recorded by the mysterious DBY. The information engulfing the match can be found here. Be sure to watch the matches to bear witness of the epicity that occured that day. For those lazy people who don't want to bother with any of this, always look for the synopsis at the end.
The champion of the Friend Code Database Super Smash Bros. Brawl Singles Tournament is the Green Mage Gamree. Despite the many attempts people made to take him out, they backfired. Sadly, the hacks of the Green Mage are truly unescapable. Few can fathom their works, but one day, he will defeated by a spikey kitten with nachos.
And whatever other words you can think of. FCD has now merged with NSF, making us one big maybe happy group of people who share common goals, ideals, and/or sizes. Have fun out there.
Summer has been around for a few days; yippy skippy, I suppose. Now that we'll be off school and sleeping late or working or vacationing, it's safe to say Nintendo's doing the same. There aren't many titles to look forward to on the DS or Wii, to date, but this year's E3 may disprove that.
The games which have been released for WiiWare and Virtual Console this week include:
| Title | Originally for | ESRB Rating | Players | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gyrostarr | WiiWare | E | 1-4 | $7 |
| Alex Kidd in Miracle World | Sega Master System | E | 1 | $5 |
| BURNING FIGHT | NEOGEO | E10+ | 1-2 | $9 |
As a side note, the Singles Tournament is still taking place as we 'eagerly' await the results of the battles between DBY and Gamree. The wait has been tiring, tell them to hasten via PM so that we can know who passes on.
There's not much to say this time around. Either that or I am very lazy and tired. This concludes the words. Dixi.
Ahoy everyone, just wanted to pop in to say we're on print!
Pointed out by one of our newest members, jANK, we made it in a small section of Electronic Gaming Monthly. I've highlighted the section where we're mentioned. Thanks to Level 9 Chao for the scanned page.
Tomorrow marks the last day of May, a month made up of three letters, but lasts thirty days. A sensation of Summer begins to rise as the temperatures fly up, and that's not to matter as a gamer always keeps his or her cool.
This week, some more Virtual Console and WiiWare games were released. They are listed in the table below.
| Title | Originally for | ESRB Rating | Players | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dr. Mario Online Rx | WiiWare | E | 1-4 | $10 |
| Family Table Tennis | WiiWare | E | 1-2 | $5 |
| City Connection | Nintendo Entertainment System | E | 1-2 | $5 |
| Metal Slug | NEOGEO | T | 1-2 | $9 |
Next week, two games are scheduled to release. There's not much going on, but I have nothing to do with it, don't yell.
| System | Title | ESRB Rating |

| Wii/ DS | Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures | E10+ |
| DS | Summon Night: Twin Age | E10+ |

We may be saying farewell to May, but welcoming June and others. For any new people, be sure to check out the forums here; also, here's a welcome gift. Zelda says 'Hi'.

Lastly, Fish has completed his Super Smash Bros. Brawl review. Be sure to read it here; it's full of grammar mistakes and lacks punctuation. Be sure to rep him for his hard work. That is all for now.
WiiWare's second week arrives as more games enter. But yet again, they take up loads of space. Use it wisely. From now on, WiiWare and Virtual Console games will be added together. This week's include:
| Title | Originally For | ESRB Rating | Players | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Critter Round-Up | WiiWare | E | 1-4 | $10 |
| Star Soldier R | WiiWare | E | 1 | $8 |
| SKYKID | Nintendo Entertainment System | E | 1-2 | $5 |
WiiFit releases this week after the long awaited wait. In truth, it is not a game. Don't buy. If you have Brawl, you're set.
Lastly, for anyone looking for a new DS, Nintendo has recently released a new colour DS Lite named Metallic Rose. Essentially it's a glowy pink DS. It's nothing too important really. That is all for now.
Note: No games will be released for DS or Wii, this week.
The next update. A long list of people have hindered my updating. Worry not, for I slashed through vigorously with my sword...uh...Swordy. Yus.
The month of April has been a rough time for gaming due to all the rain. The skies must not know they impede such activities; and so we must overcome. But enough tomfoolery from me, the gaming world awaits. The games recently released for the Virtual Console are:

Be sure to discuss the new channel here.

Lastly, the Brawl Singles Tournament reaches the Semi-Finals with the competitors being Level_9_Chao, Gamree, DBY, and Darkstar. Gamree passed on to the finals having had defeated Darkstar in their battle. We now await the results for the battles between a Yoshi and a Chao. Very mystical.
